About

An independent review.

treverete.com is a third-party, independent review site for a small café in Bogotá. It is not the café’s official site. This page explains who runs it, the editorial standards, and what you can rely on here.

What this site is

An independent, English-and-Spanish review and information site for Treverete Café & Vino Gourmet — the small café inside Edificio Bacatá in central Bogotá. The site exists because the café doesn’t have a public website of its own and because Google Maps gets the location subtly wrong. Useful, honest information is the whole point.

What this site is not

Who runs it

This site is curated by Natalia Sofia Vives. The reviews reflect her personal observations on multiple visits to Treverete and the surrounding Bacatá ground-floor establishments, plus publicly available information from Google Maps, Instagram, and direct conversation with staff.

The intent is to be useful to someone who has never been — the kind of plain, honest writeup you wish existed before you walked into an unfamiliar café in an unfamiliar city.

Editorial principles

1. Honesty over flattery

We don’t write reviews to please the businesses we cover. If something is good, we say so. If something is awkward (the no-menu policy, the location confusion, the inconsistent hours), we say so. The reader is better served by accuracy than by promotional language.

2. No fabricated quotes

This site does not invent customer reviews and attribute them to fake people. Where review themes are described, they summarize patterns from publicly visible customer feedback on Google Maps and similar platforms. Direct “pull quotes” are attributed to the author’s own observation or summarize broader themes.

3. Original photography preferred

We don’t copy customer photos to our own server. The most authentic visual record of the café already exists on Google Maps, uploaded by actual visitors. We link to it. See Photos.

4. Updated when wrong

If you spot something incorrect — a price that has changed, hours that have shifted, a tenant that has moved — please email natasofvives@gmail.com with the subject line “Correction.” We update quickly.

5. Bilingual by design

Treverete sits in Bogotá. Many of its actual customers are Colombian. Many of its visitors are not. The site has both an English and a Colombian Spanish version because both audiences matter.

If you’re part of Treverete

If you’re part of the café team itself (owner, manager, the wonderful barista whose service we keep mentioning) and you’d like to claim or contribute to this site, we’d be glad to coordinate. We can:

Email natasofvives@gmail.com with “Owner” in the subject line.

Trademarks & disclaimers

Trademarks and trade names mentioned on this site — Treverete, Café Quindío, Crepes & Waffles, Carulla, Edificio Bacatá, BD Bacatá — are the property of their respective owners. Their inclusion here is for descriptive, comparative, and informational purposes consistent with normal editorial practice (nominative fair use). No endorsement is implied.

This site is provided for informational purposes only. While we try to keep details accurate, business hours, pricing, menus, and ownership can change at any time. Always verify current information directly with the establishment before making plans that depend on it.

Bottom line

If this site helped you find a good coffee inside a big building, the work was worth doing. If it didn’t, please tell us what would have helped — we’ll fix it for the next visitor.
